Firan Technology Group Corporation (FTG) Wins Two Supplier Awards From Rockwell Collins

Toronto, May 8, 2008 – FTG Aerospace was selected for the Lean Initiative Award 2008 from Rockwell Collins. The award was presented by Jeff Moore, Senior Vice President of Operations, during the company’s Annual Supplier Conference. FTG won this award in competition across all suppliers to Rockwell. FTG dedicates resources to lean programs across the company.

“During 2007 FTG used lean principles in developing the layout and manufacturing flow for the new facility for FTG Aerospace which resulted in significant improvement in manufacturing efficiencies for the business” said Randy Drake, Director of Manufacturing.

“The move to our new facility integrated all of operations under one roof which provided a great opportunity to take waste out of our process. It was a huge initiative involving buy in and participation from our entire staff. We are grateful that the improvement has been recognized so quickly from one of our largest stakeholders” said Collin Latchman, Vice President andGeneral Manager.

“For the second straight year, FTG has earned our Lean Initiative Award,” said Roger Weiss, Vice President of Material and Supply for Rockwell Collins. “This recognizes their track record of being able to shorten lead times, assist Rockwell Collins in reducing inventories and meeting our customers’ needs.”

FTG Aerospace also won the Supplier of the Year award for the Human Machine Interface product group. FTG Aerospace manufactures illuminated cockpit products including panels, hybrid panels and bezels for both commercial and military applications for Rockwell and was cited for performance in meeting delivery schedules and product quality. FTG Aerospace was also recognized for design and engineering support and the teamwork demonstrated with Rockwell Collins.
